DOS/NOVELL Help
A remedy for confusion at your workstation

Did you know that you have comprehensive help for DOS and Novell commands right at your fingertips?  On stand-alone (non-networked) systems, for example, you can type `HELP COPY' at the DOS prompt to display information about the DOS COPY command. Use the arrow keys to move around the screen or press the TAB key to select Notes or Examples.  To exit, press ALT-F to get to the File menu, then select exit.  You can even view all the DOS commands by typing `HELP' by itself.

If you are using Novell's network system, Netware's help utility works in the same fashion. Type `HELP MAP' at the DOS prompt to show information on Netware's MAP command.  Use the arrows and the TAB key to move around.  To exit, press ALT-F to get to the file menu and select exit.

If you need DOS help and you are on a network, you may need to move to the DOS directory before using the HELP command.  To do this, you would change to your local hard disk drive (typically by typing 'C:'.  Then you would change to the DOS directory by typing `CD \DOS'.  Then run the help command.

By the way - The halFILE manual is available as a Windows help file.  Call Christopher in our Austin office (512- 892-0972) to get a copy on disk or via modem.
