The Answer Man!
We are pleased to announce that your Answer Man, Christopher Smith,
recently became hal’s first Microsoft Certified Professional. To obtain
an MCP certification, one must pass a comprehensive Microsoft exam covering
a particular area of expertise. Christopher passed the Windows NT Server
4.0 examination so you will now see the MCP logo in the Answer Man column.
Now for this month's question...
Q Occasionally
I get an Image Scaling error when trying to display an image?
A This error is
normally caused by the WINIAEXT.DLL file distributed by Kofax that is not
really needed. To locate this file, go to DOS and type ‘set’. Note the
directory that the BICCFG= line points to. Change to that subdirectory
and delete WINIAEXT.DLL. This should correct the problem.
