Import Office Documents  … quickly and easily

A new halFILE feature lets you quickly add your Microsoft Office documents into halFILE. Here’s how it works.

A new program called “Send to halFILE” is installed as an icon in your system tray. (The system tray is the area where loaded program icons are shown and is usually found to the right of your task bar in Windows 95/98.) When you have an office document on the screen, you can right click on the “Send to halFILE” icon and designate which Office Application your document uses. You then are asked to select the database and basket to import into. Finally, you provide the index information and your document is stored in halFILE.

To use the “Send to halFILE” feature, you must be on version 1.4SQL or later and using Office 97 applications.
