UCLID Software and hal Systems Corporation Announce Partnership
Title plant technology moves beyond the digital age.
Madison, WI, April 2, 2001 – Today UCLID Software, maker of IcoMap® conversion and mapping software, announced that it has signed a Business Partner agreement with hal Systems Corporation. This partnership joins the title industry’s leader in document imaging and file management systems with the sole provider of Text-to-Vector™ parcel mapping software.
For title offices the dream of a single-seat environment and a paperless office is fast becoming a reality. Users of halFILE™, hal Systems popular document imaging system that electronically converts paper documents into digital form, have long known the benefits of working with electronic documents over paper files. halFILE clients can quickly view scanned images on their desktops that previously had to be retrieved in paper form from off-site storage.
IcoMap’s patented Text-to-Vector technology maps out scanned legal descriptions through a point-and-click process. This streamlines the process of drawing, checking and locating legal descriptions. Mapping also provides a visual reference to accompany the legal description, a major benefit for those referring to the files.
"Incorporating IcoMap brings a new level of sophistication to our title plant technology," explains Mark Storey hal Systems VP of Sales and Marketing. "We’re focused on imaging and document management, now title plant posting will be more advanced. Adding this capability to our other services definitely gives hal Systems a leg up."
For the thousands of professionals who work regularly with land records, the partnership offers many advantages. "IcoMap creates an intelligent digital file, offering more advantages than scanned images," comments Joe Hanousek, VP of Sales and Marketing for UCLID Software. "We believe hal Systems to have the best systems available for creating and storing scanned images. Now their clients can use these images to easily create accurate, intelligent maps."
Vector maps, created by IcoMap, can be compiled in larger maps to identify gaps and overlaps in adjacent parcels. Also easements, road centerlines and rivers can be drawn on a separate layer without affecting the parcel boundaries. IcoMap, is also used to develop a digital arbing system.
The partnership was announced at the Title Technology show in Denver, CO.
