halFILE installations approach 250

The sale of halFILE (Optical Access, WinImage) Imaging Systems is booming! We can’t install them fast enough, but that’s a nice problem to have! halFILE installations # 239, at Del Rio Title in Del Rio, Texas , #238 at Lee County Land & Abstract in Giddings, Texas, and #237, at Sierra County Recorder in Downieville, California all went in smoothly last week. From our first halFILE sale to Edna Abstract (now Coastal Title) in Edna, Texas, way back in 1992 to today we have 240 halFILE imaging installations (with 3,338 client seats/users) in 27 states. In 1992 we sold and installed 2 Imaging Systems, both to title companies. In 1993 we added 9 more installations, 8 were title companies and 1 was a Texas County Clerk. Last year in 1999, we and our resellers sold and installed 67 halFILE Imaging Systems!

These 240 installations are in 12 different industries. The Title Industry has by far the majority of installations at 175, government installations are 28, the financial industry has 8, the oil & gas industry has 7, colleges and education have 7, the insurance industry has 4, and 11 are in various other industries. The flexibility of our halFILE Imaging System has allowed us to sell the same product to all these diverse companies, with many different applications and uses.

We have come a long way in 8 years, evolving from DOS to Windows 2000, from Novell to NT, from Local Area Networks to the Internet, from a proprietary file System to industry standard SQL/ODBC, and from 200 MB WORM cartridges to CD-ROM/DVD and now SAN’s (Storage Area Networks) for image Storage. The changes in hardware and software have been staggering.

Most importantly though, our software, our people and our knowledge have matured greatly, primarily from working with and listening to our clients. We again thank all our clients, resellers and users for your overwhelming support.
